I had a conference for work, and it ended up being in an underground salt mine. In real life I work in a hospital. I was just walking along heading toward my hotel to check in when I suddenly found myself underground in like a massive cave. It was light and not spooky or anything, but I did think it was a little weird.
There was heavy construction equipment and machinery like you’d expect in a salt mining cave (pretty sure salt isn’t mined in a cave in real life!) that was being developed as this apparently was. I wandered around in a large open area among the loud machinery for the hotel entrance. It didn’t dawn on me I might be in the wrong place!
Sure enough, I looked up and there was a layer in this cave area that was accessible by steps and there was the hotel entrance.
I walked in and saw the place looked really nice. But the check in area was not obvious. It just looks really expensive and I started to wonder how is this paid for exactly? Maybe I should have worked that out with my boss before actually coming here. I found the check in desk, but the lady was distracted and said they’re not operating right now due to tax ID issues. I asked if she means permanently or temporarily. She didn’t answer me the first time. I assumed temporary because everyone around us going about their business. I asked three times, then she told me temporary but was annoyed.
The scene changed and I was with my real work team in some lecture hall type building chatting and waiting for something.
Then the scene changed again and I was a waiter with very limited knowledge of menu and no note pad. I had to type orders into my phone notes app. I no clue what I was doing or how this happened.
One of the tables included a person from real work who is normally friendly, but she was with a lady who started outright mocking me for being too nice and having mannerisms she obviously didn’t like. In the dream I just had to take it and keep working but felt despondent. Then the dream ended.
